Structured, supervised exercise that rebuilds strength and confidence after injury, guided by a registered kinesiologist.
Kinesiology is the practice of using structured exercise to restore function. Where physiotherapy often focuses on the injured tissue, active rehabilitation focuses on rebuilding the strength, endurance and movement patterns you lost while you were hurt.
Your kinesiologist supervises each session in the clinic, correcting technique and progressing load as you improve. Programs are common after a motor vehicle accident, a workplace injury or surgery.
Active rehabilitation is frequently approved as part of ICBC and WorkSafeBC claims and many extended health plans include kinesiology. Bring your claim number and we will confirm what is covered before you start.
Active rehab bridges the gap between early treatment and returning to work, sport and normal life.
