Practical answers about booking, coverage, appointments and what to expect so you can arrive prepared.
No. Physiotherapy is a primary care profession in British Columbia, which means you can book directly without a doctor referral. Some extended health plans ask for a referral for reimbursement so it is worth checking your policy.
Same-week appointments are often available. We are open 8:00am to 8:00pm on Tuesday and Thursday, and 9:00am to 6:00pm on Monday, Wednesday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Call the clinic and we will find a time that fits around your schedule.
Initial assessments are typically 60 minutes, which gives your clinician time to take a full history, assess how you move, explain the findings and begin treatment.
Comfortable clothing you can move in. For a knee or hip assessment, shorts are helpful. For neck or shoulder concerns, a loose top or vest works well. We also have shorts and gowns available.
Yes. You are welcome to bring a partner, family member, friend or support person to any appointment.
Yes. We direct bill most major extended health insurers, along with ICBC and WorkSafeBC for approved claims. Bring your policy details to your first visit.
Report the accident to ICBC to receive a claim number, then call us to book. No doctor referral is required and treatment should begin within 12 weeks of the accident to use pre approved visits.
Report the injury to your employer and file a claim with WorkSafeBC. Bring your claim number to your assessment and we will build a plan around returning to your job duties safely.
Our current fees are listed on the fees and direct billing page. Costs vary by service and appointment length and our team will confirm any amount you owe before your visit.
It depends on your condition, how long you have had it and your goals. Your clinician will give you a realistic estimate after your assessment rather than an open ended plan and will review it as you progress.
Treatment should be comfortable. Some hands on techniques and exercises may feel intense at times and mild soreness afterwards is common. Tell your clinician at any point and they will adjust.
Usually not. Imaging rarely changes the treatment plan for common musculoskeletal problems and scans often show age related changes that are not the source of symptoms. If your clinician believes imaging is warranted, they will discuss it with you and coordinate with your physician.
We will tell you. If another discipline in the clinic suits you better we will arrange it and if your situation needs medical assessment we will recommend you see your doctor.
